Step 2: Choose the record type
The record type is the thing the card is about. Everything after it, the attribute you match on and the fields you display, is read per object, so this choice has to come before there is anything to choose from.
#What you are choosing
The app lists the objects in your workspace as Attio returns them, including any object your team has added. Most service desks use the object that holds people, so the reporter's own record can be matched by email address, or the one that holds companies, so a reporter is matched to their employer by email domain.
Changing the record type later clears the rest of setup. The screen warns you first, with a message naming the object you are moving to. The attribute you matched on and the fields on the card belong to the old object and cannot carry over.
#If the list is empty
"Attio returned no objects for this key" almost always means the key belongs to a workspace that has not been set up yet, rather than that anything is broken.
#A few things worth knowing
An object renamed or deleted in Attio after setup leaves the card unable to find it, and the screen says so rather than failing quietly.
The attribute list for an object is remembered for an hour, so an attribute added in Attio can take that long to appear in the pickers.
There is one record type per project. A project cannot show a person card on some issues and a company card on others.
