Setting up
Setup asks six questions: which workspace, which kind of record, how to match a reporter to one, which fields to show, who may see them, and where the card should appear.
Each page below covers one of those questions, what the options mean, and what happens if you get it wrong. After setup the same six screens stay available as tabs, so nothing here is a one-time decision.

Step 1: Connect an Attio workspacePaste an Attio API key to link one Jira project to one Attio workspace, and confirm the key reaches the workspace you meant.Step 2: Choose the record typePick the Attio object the card is built from, such as People or Companies, which decides every attribute you can show or match on.Step 3: Choose how issues are matchedDecide whether an issue finds the reporter's own record by email address, or their company's record by email domain, and which attribute holds the value.Step 4: Choose the fields on the cardPick which Attio attributes appear on the card and in what order, then check them against a real record before anyone else sees it.Step 5: Choose who can see the cardSet the Jira permission a viewer needs before the customer card is shown to them, and optionally narrow that audience to named groups.Step 6: Choose where the card appearsSwitch on one or more of the three places the card can sit on an issue, which is also what turns the card on at all.The Attio settings tabs after setupOnce the six steps are done the wizard becomes a row of tabs, each holding one step's settings and saving only what you changed.Reset a project's Attio setupReset to defaults removes the API key and every Attio setting from a Jira project, takes the card off every issue, and changes nothing in Attio.
