Power BI Embed puts a live Microsoft Power BI report or dashboard straight onto a Confluence page. You paste a Power BI link, an iframe embed snippet, or a bare report ID into a macro, and the report renders in place inside the page. It is a display-only embed: Capable does not sign you in to Power BI, does not copy any report data, and stores nothing about the report beyond the address you typed. Whoever is reading the page sees the report only if they already have access to it in Power BI. It comes with its own separate Confluence app (a direct upgrade of the acquired re:solution "Microsoft Power BI embed for Confluence" Connect app), so existing macros on existing pages keep working with no page edits.

#A few things worth knowing

  • Power BI Embed is a viewer, not a connector. It never authenticates to Power BI, never fetches report data, and never stores a token. Everything the reader sees comes from Microsoft directly, subject to Microsoft's own access rules.

  • The macro accepts only two hosts (app.powerbi.com and app.fabric.microsoft.com) and only two URL shapes (/view with an r parameter, /reportEmbed with a reportId parameter). A link copied from the browser address bar while browsing a workspa

  • A bare report ID is always turned into an app.powerbi.com link with automatic authentication. It never targets Fabric.
