The Attio settings tabs after setup

The wizard exists to get a project working. After that the same settings live behind six tabs, so you can change one thing without walking through the rest.

#The tabs

Tab

What it holds

Connection

The API key, the connection test, and Reset to defaults

Record type

The Attio object the card is built from

Matching

How a reporter becomes a record, and the domains this project ignores

Fields

Which attributes are on the card, their order, and the picture

Permissions

The permission a viewer needs, and any group restriction

Placement

Which of the three places the card appears in

#Saving

Each tab saves only the fields that actually changed, so a change on one screen cannot overwrite a change somebody else made on another. During setup, each step saves as it is completed rather than everything at the end.

#A few things worth knowing

  • The settings page stays reachable whether or not any placement is on, and whether or not the project has ever been connected. Gating it would lock an admin out of the screen that fixes it.

  • Only project administrators can open it, and that is enforced on the server rather than by hiding the link.

  • A summary line at the top reads "Shown on <placements>, to <audience>", which is the fastest way to confirm what a project is actually doing.

Six steps once, six tabs after.
