Getting started

Follow these simple steps to start using Workflow Hub in your monday.com account:

1. Install the App

Head to the monday.com App Marketplace and search for Workflow Hub. Click Install and follow the prompts to add it to your account and desired boards.

2. Set Up a Status Column

Choose or create a board where you want to use Workflow Hub. Ensure it has a Status column — this column will be the foundation of your workflow. Each label in the column represents a step in your process.

3. Create a Workflow (Board View)

Open the Workflow Hub Board View from the "Views" section of your board. Click Edit Workflow to start designing your flow:

  • Select a status column

  • Add transitions between statuses

  • Name transitions to indicate action paths (e.g. "Start Review" or "Mark Done")

Once saved, this workflow defines how items should move across statuses.

4. Process Items (Item View)

Click into any item on the board and go to the Workflow Hub Item View tab. Here, you’ll see the current status of the item and a visual map of the valid transitions.

By default, the workflow will show all possible transitions between statuses, allowing full flexibility. However, you can configure it to show only specific transitions that make sense for your process. This helps guide users through the correct paths and reduces errors.

Simply click on a transition to move the item to the next step in the workflow.

This view ensures everyone on your team knows what the next step is and helps maintain a clean, consistent process.
