# Ticked "Publish it right away" but my site address does not work

**What you are seeing**

I ticked "Publish it right away" but my site address does not work.

## Why it happens

That checkbox only starts a deploy, which builds a staging preview. Its help text ("the address above goes live in a few minutes") is misleading, production is only written by Promote.

Open the site → Overview → Deployment → Staging row → Promote, and confirm.
