# Site settings Settings are split across the site's own tabs plus a few things set per page in Confluence. This is the complete list. Two of them are display-only, which is worth knowing before you go looking for the edit control. --- ## Every setting | **Section** | **Setting** | **What it does** | | -------------------------- | ---------------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | | General | Site name | Renames the site. Confirm dialog; cannot be undone. | | Spaces & URLs | Published spaces (add, remove, reo | Which Confluence spaces the site publishes, and in what order, the order is the site navigation. Publishes on next deploy. | | Spaces & URLs | Public name (per space) | Overrides the Confluence space name everywhere the space is named on the site (navigation, switcher, tabs, homepage cards, llms.txt). Does NOT change URLs. | | Spaces & URLs | URL slug (per space) | The folder the space publishes under. The home space is always served at / and its slug field is disabled. | | Spaces & URLs | Home space (house icon) | Makes one space the site front door: it moves first, is labelled "Home", and is served at /. Replaces the generated card-grid homepage with a redirect. | | Spaces & URLs | Redirects | One rule per line. The editor writes \`literal /from /to permanent\|temporary\`; the raw text view also accepts \`/from /to 301|302\` and \`#\` comments. Each rule publishes as | | Navigation | Style → Switcher | A space menu button in the site header showing the current space, opening a grouped list. Hidden below 780px. | | Navigation | Style → Tabs | A horizontal single-line scrolling bar of spaces under the header. Categories become labelled clusters on the same line. | | Navigation | Style → Sidebar picker | A space card pinned above the page tree that opens a searchable, keyboard-navigable panel. Hides both the header switcher and the tabs bar. With one space the card is sta | | Navigation | Space avatars | Shows each space's Confluence icon in navigation; spaces without an icon get a coloured chip of their initials, coloured consistently from the space key. | | Navigation | Categories | Optional single-level grouping of spaces under headings. Headings only, no page of their own, never nested. They also become section headings on the generated homepage. | | Access | Public | "Anyone can access the site without authentication." No login, indexable by search engines. | | Access | Password protected | "Visitors must enter a shared password to access the site." One password for everyone. Save is blocked with "Set a password to enable password protection" until one is se | | Access | Login with Atlassian | "Visitors authenticate with their Atlassian account." Uses Capable's own managed Atlassian app, you configure no client ID or secret. | | Access | Allowed email domains | Restricts Atlassian sign-in to listed domains. An empty list means ANY Atlassian account in the world can sign in ("No domain restrictions configured. Add one or more dom | | Access | Session duration | How long a visitor stays signed in. Publishes on next deploy. | | Integrations | Capable analytics integration | Tags page views with the space, page and version so published pages show up in the Capable Google Analytics reports next to the same page's views inside Confluence. Analytics do not run until accepted. | | Integrations | Jira Service Management widget | Embeds the JSM help widget. Groups count, so membership changes flow through. Applies immediately, no deploy ne | | Custom domains | Add domain | Claims one fully-qualified domain for this site and issues a 48-hour ownership claim plus a \_capable-verify TXT record. The Add form warns you to first remove this domain | | Custom domains | Continue setup | Requests the TLS certificate and starts provisioning, then shows the DNS validation CNAME you must add. Only available while the domain is awaiting verification and the c | | Custom domains | Retry | Re-runs provisioning for a Failed domain, reusing the existing certificate.
