# Securing a published site Not every Confluence site should be public. Capable Sites can put a password or a sign-in in front of every page, so only the people you choose can read it. Access changes apply straight away, with no deploy, and cover staging previews too. Remember that Confluence page restrictions do not carry over to a published site. Access covers the whole site. To keep one page private, keep it off the site. --- ## Common tasks | **You want to** | **Go to** | | ----------------------------------------------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | | Put one shared password on the site | [Password-protect a Confluence site](https://help.gocapable.com/sites/password-protect-a-confluence-site.html) | | Let people sign in with Google Workspace | [Let visitors sign in to a Confluence site with Google](https://help.gocapable.com/sites/let-visitors-sign-in-to-a-confluence-site-with-google.html) | | Let people sign in with Microsoft 365 or Entra ID | [Let visitors sign in with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD)](https://help.gocapable.com/sites/let-visitors-sign-in-with-microsoft-entra-id-azure-ad.html) | | Make the site private to your own people | [Restrict a published Confluence site to your company](https://help.gocapable.com/sites/restrict-a-published-confluence-site-to-your-company.html) | | End every visitor session now | [Sign everyone out of a protected site](https://help.gocapable.com/sites/sign-everyone-out-of-a-protected-site.html) | | Compare the five access modes | [Access modes](https://help.gocapable.com/sites/access-modes.html) | | Understand who each sign-in lets in, and why visitors are refused | [Restrict access to sites](https://help.gocapable.com/sites/restrict-access-to-sites.html) | | Fix a failed Access save | [Saving Access settings fails with a generic error](https://help.gocapable.com/sites/saving-access-settings-fails-with-a-generic-error.html) | --- ## Guides in this section [Password-protect a Confluence siteProtect a published Confluence site with one shared password that visitors type before they can read any page.](https://help.gocapable.com/sites/password-protect-a-confluence-site.html)[Let visitors sign in to a Confluence site with GoogleProtect a published Confluence site with Google sign-in, limited to your Google Workspace domains and any individual accounts you list.](https://help.gocapable.com/sites/let-visitors-sign-in-to-a-confluence-site-with-google.html)[Let visitors sign in with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD)Protect a published Confluence site with Microsoft sign-in, limited to the Microsoft Entra organisations you list.](https://help.gocapable.com/sites/let-visitors-sign-in-with-microsoft-entra-id-azure-ad.html)[Restrict a published Confluence site to your companyMake a published Confluence site private to your own people with Atlassian, Google or Microsoft sign-in.](https://help.gocapable.com/sites/restrict-a-published-confluence-site-to-your-company.html)[Sign everyone out of a protected siteEnd every visitor session on a protected Confluence site at once, without changing anything else.](https://help.gocapable.com/sites/sign-everyone-out-of-a-protected-site.html) --- ## Related ### [Access modes](https://help.gocapable.com/sites/access-modes.html) The five modes and sessions. ### [Restrict access to sites](https://help.gocapable.com/sites/restrict-access-to-sites.html) Rules, IT setup and refusals. ### [Who can do what](https://help.gocapable.com/sites/who-can-do-what.html) Who can change access. ### [Frequently asked questions](https://help.gocapable.com/sites/frequently-asked-questions.html) Quick answers. --- _Public by default.
