# Password-protected site's sign-in button does nothing

A password-protected site's sign-in button does nothing.

## Why it happens

Password sign-in needs JavaScript and modern browser crypto. With JavaScript off, the form cannot submit.

## What to do

Ask the visitor to enable JavaScript. A generic "Sign in failed. Please try again." alert is all the page can show on failure.
