# Custom domain is stuck on "Validating…"

**What you are seeing**

My custom domain is stuck on "Validating…".

## Why it happens

The certificate validation CNAME is missing, mistyped, or hidden behind a proxy or CDN. Note the \_capable-verify TXT record is not the one that matters, this second CNAME is.

## What to do

Copy Name and Value from the card, add them exactly, and confirm the record answers when queried directly. The system checks every 5 minutes for up to 48 hours; after that, Retry resumes.
