# Apex domain (example.com) will not work

My apex domain (example.com) will not work.

## Why it happens

The only DNS guidance given is "point your domain to CloudFront with a CNAME record", and most DNS providers cannot create a CNAME at the zone root.

## What to do

Use a subdomain like docs.example.com, or use your DNS provider's ALIAS/ANAME record type if it has one.
