# Add your logo and brand colours to a Confluence site To brand a published Confluence site, open the site's **Settings** in Capable Sites and choose **Appearance**. Upload your logo under **Branding**, set **Header background**, **Header text** and **Accent** under **Colors**, pick a **Font family** and select **Save changes**. Then run Update and Promote to publish it. --- ## Before you start | **You need** | **Why** | | ----------------------------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------- | | A Confluence admin, or a collaborator on the site | Only they see the site's **Settings**. | | Your logo as PNG, JPG, SVG or WebP, up to 100 KB | It sits in the site header. A height of 28 to 32 px works best. | | Optionally a favicon as PNG, ICO or SVG, up to 100 KB | The browser-tab icon. Without one, the site logo is used. | | Your brand colours as hex values | For example #1a3bff. Any colour you leave blank keeps the site default. | --- ## Steps 1. Open Capable and choose **Sites**. Expand your site in the sidebar and select **Settings**. 2. Select the **Appearance** card. 3. Under **Branding**, select **Upload logo** and choose your file. To set the browser-tab icon too, select **Upload favicon**. 4. Under **Colors**, set **Header background**, **Header text** and **Accent**. Add **Page background**, **Body text**, **Headings** or **Sidebar & panels** if you want them too. 5. Under **Typography**, pick a **Font family**. 6. Optionally, under **Footer**, enter **Footer text** such as a copyright notice. 7. Check the preview on the right in both **Light** and **Dark**, then select **Save changes**. 8. On the site's **Overview**, select **Update**. Check the staging preview, then select **Promote** and **Promote to production**. --- ## What happens next Saving shows **Appearance saved. Publishes on next deploy.** Nothing changes for visitors until you promote. After that, every page shows your logo and colours. The header keeps your colours in dark mode too; the other colours are adapted for dark mode rather than inverted. 📝 When you create a site, the **Theme** step offers seven ready-made palettes. Picking one there and adjusting it here later is the quickest route. --- ## If it does not work * A colour shows a contrast message, for example that links are hard to read against the sidebar: choose a darker or lighter shade until the message goes. * **Save changes** is greyed out with **The announcement banner needs a headline and colors**: fill in the banner, or turn off **Show banner**. * The upload fails: see [Uploading a logo or cover image fails with "Failed to upload image"](https://help.gocapable.com/sites/uploading-a-logo-or-cover-image-fails-with-failed-to-upload-image.html). * The live site still has the old look: check you promoted after the Update. --- ## Related ### [Theming your site](https://help.gocapable.com/sites/theming-your-site.html) Every colour, font, banner and footer control. ### [Publish several Confluence spaces as one site](https://help.gocapable.com/sites/publish-several-confluence-spaces-as-one-site.html) Navigation between spaces. ### [Update a published Confluence site after editing pages](https://help.gocapable.com/sites/update-a-published-confluence-site-after-editing-pages.html) Update and Promote, step by step. ### [Custom CSS has no effect once a visitor toggles dark mode](https://help.gocapable.com/sites/custom-css-has-no-effect-once-a-visitor-toggles-dark-mode.html) When custom styles vanish in dark mode. ### [Designing your site](https://help.gocapable.com/sites/designing-your-site.html) All design guides. --- _Your logo in the header.
