# Add a cookie consent banner to a Confluence site To add a cookie consent banner to a Confluence site published with Capable Sites, open the site's **Settings**, choose **Integrations**, turn on **Cookie consent popup** and select **Save changes**, then Update and Promote. Visitors can accept all, reject all or choose by category, and analytics and widgets wait for their answer. --- ## Before you start * You need to be a Confluence admin or a collaborator on the site. * Set up the integrations you want first. The banner only offers the categories they need: Analytics for Google Analytics, Functional for the Jira Service Management and Released widgets, and all three when Tag Manager is connected. --- ## Steps 1. Open Capable, choose **Sites**, open your site, and select **Settings**, then the **Integrations** card. 2. Under **Analytics**, turn on **Cookie consent popup**. 3. If you use Tag Manager and want its own consent settings to decide which tags fire, turn on **Tag Manager handles consent**. 4. Select **Save changes**. 5. On the site's **Overview**, select **Update**, wait for it to finish, then select **Promote**. 6. Open the live site in a private window and check the banner appears in the bottom right corner. --- ## What happens next Visitors see **Accept all**, **Reject all** and **Customize**. **Customize** shows a checkbox per category and **Save choices**. Each page also gets a **Cookie settings** link in the footer, so visitors can change their mind. Withdrawing a category reloads the page and clears the cookies Capable's integrations set for it. Choices are remembered for 12 months. Statuspage sets no cookies, so it always loads. --- ## Related ### [Integrations and cookie consent](https://help.gocapable.com/sites/integrations-and-cookie-consent.html) Categories, consent mode and what each integration stores. ### [Use Google Tag Manager with a published Confluence site](https://help.gocapable.com/sites/use-google-tag-manager-with-a-published-confluence-site.html) Consent triggers in your container. ### [Chat widget / marketing tag / third-party script does not run on the published site](https://help.gocapable.com/sites/chat-widget-marketing-tag-third-party-script-does-not-run-on-the-published-site.html) When a widget waits for consent. ### [Analytics, cookies and consent](https://help.gocapable.com/sites/analytics-cookies-and-consent.html) More analytics and consent guides. --- _Ask first.
