# Side panels Selecting a row opens a side panel. Which panels appear depends on which capabilities are installed, and they are grouped so the list stays navigable. ![A tall side panel for a page called An awesome page, with Approval collapsed and Calendar expanded to show two dates, then a Tools heading with Versions, an expanded Attachments panel showing one thum](https://help.gocapable.com/images/73e91761-2122-41c6-b935-69116cb47869.webp) A page's panels run from the capabilities that found something on it down to the tools that read the page itself. It is the difference between a search that finds pages and one you can actually work through. --- ## The three groups ![A search side panel with headings General, Capabilities and Tools; Summary and Headings sit under General, Approval, Diagrams and Markdown under Capabilities, and Versions, Views and Metrics under Too](https://help.gocapable.com/images/d739d155-d44f-4262-862e-10fd4fd2c735.webp) General sits at the top, the capabilities that found something in the middle, and the tools at the bottom, with the Diagrams panel opened to preview a diagram in place. | **Group** | **Holds** | | ------------ | --------------------------------------------------------------------- | | General | Summary, Children, Headings, Properties | | Capabilities | Panels contributed by other capabilities, which is the default bucket | | Tools | Versions and Attachments from Search, plus Metrics, Tasks and others | --- ## Search's own panels Summary, Versions, Children, Attachments, Headings and Properties. These are present in both the standalone app and the Suite. --- ## A few things worth knowing * A panel from a capability you have not installed does not appear at all. * Panels read live page data, so they are current even when the index is behind. * The panel respects permissions exactly as the table does. --- ## Related [ColumnsThe table itself.](https://help.gocapable.com/search/columns.html) [Filters and sortingNarrowing first.](https://help.gocapable.com/search/filters-and-sorting.html) [Capable for ConfluenceWhich capabilities contribute panels.](https://staging.dev.capable-sites.com/wiki/pages/1412890864) --- _Find it, then read it, without leaving._
