# Add columns to Confluence search results To add columns to Confluence search results, open Capable Search, select **Select columns** in the filter bar and tick the columns you want. Columns are grouped by the capability that supplies them. Drag a column header to move it, then save the search so the columns are kept for everyone who uses it. --- ## Before you start | **You need** | **Why** | | ----------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | | Capable Search installed | The app is part of Capable Search for Confluence and the Capable Suite. | | The capability for the column | Columns such as Approval Status or Words only appear when the capability that supplies them is installed. | --- ## Steps 1. Open Capable Search: select **Capable Search** in the space sidebar or the Apps menu (in the Suite, **Capable**, then **Search**). 2. Select **New search** or a saved search. 3. Select **Select columns** in the filter bar. 4. Tick each column you want and untick any you do not need. 5. Drag a column header to move it, or drag its edge to change its width. 6. Save the search to keep the columns. See [Save a Confluence search as a report](https://help.gocapable.com/search/save-a-confluence-search-as-a-report.html). --- ## What happens next The table shows the new columns at once. When you save, the columns, their order and their widths are stored with the saved search, so search macros that use it show them too. Export uses exactly these columns. --- ## Related ### [Columns](https://help.gocapable.com/search/columns.html) Every column and where it comes from. ### [Export Confluence search results to CSV](https://help.gocapable.com/search/export-confluence-search-results-to-csv.html) Take the columns with you. ### [Saved searches](https://help.gocapable.com/search/saved-searches.html) Columns belong to the search. --- _Show what matters, hide the rest._
