# Saved the Setup tab and manual publishing turned itself off, even though I never touched that switch

**What you are seeing**

I saved the Setup tab and manual publishing turned itself off, even though I never touched that switch.

## Why it happens

The settings screen seeds the manual-publishing switch to off before your first save, while the value actually stored for an untouched space is manual + automatic. Saving the form therefore writes what the screen showed, not what was stored.

## What to do

Before your first save on any space, deliberately set "Allow manual publishing" to the value you want. Re-check it after every Reset to default too, which also writes manual publishing off.
