# Publish a Confluence page to another space To publish a Confluence page to another space, open the page, select the **Publishing** item in the byline under the title, select **Publish**, add a comment if asked, and confirm. The page is copied to the target space in the background, usually within a minute, and the byline then shows **Published**. --- ## Before you start * Publishing is enabled for the space and a target space is set. * **Allow manual publishing** is on, and you can edit the page. * If **Restrict publish permissions** is on, you are in the allowed list or a space administrator. --- ## Steps 1. Open the page you want to publish. 2. Select **Publishing** in the byline under the title. In the Suite, it is in the **Capable** menu. 3. Select **Publish**. If you are asked **Publish page tree?**, its unpublished parent pages will be published first; select **Continue**. 4. Type a **Comment** if one is required. It becomes the version comment on the published copy. 5. Confirm. You see **Page sent to publishing queue**. --- ## What happens next The byline changes to **Published** once the copy is made. Use **View published** to open the copy. If it shows **Publish Failed** instead, open the item to read the reason. --- ## Related ### [Publishing byline panel](https://help.gocapable.com/publishing/publishing-byline-panel.html) Everything the byline shows. ### [Update a published Confluence page after editing it](https://help.gocapable.com/publishing/update-a-published-confluence-page-after-editing-it.html) Keep the copy current. ### [Publish button is missing from the byline on a page I can edit](https://help.gocapable.com/publishing/publish-button-is-missing-from-the-byline-on-a-page-i-can-edit.html) If you cannot see Publish. ### [What a publish actually copies](https://help.gocapable.com/publishing/what-a-publish-actually-copies.html) What comes across. --- _One click, one copy._
