# Find and retry Confluence pages that failed to publish To find Confluence pages that failed to publish, open the space's Publishing page and select **Failed** under Pages. Each page's Publishing byline item explains the reason. Fix the cause, then select **Retry** next to Failed on the **Dashboard** to publish them all again, or republish single pages from their byline. --- ## Before you start * Anyone can see the Failed list. Retrying everything needs a space administrator of both spaces. --- ## Steps 1. Open the space and select **Capable Publishing** in the sidebar (in the Suite, **Capable**, then **Publishing**). 2. Under Pages, select **Failed**. 3. Open a page and select its **Publishing** byline item to see why it failed. 4. For example, remove the `capable_never_publish` label, or publish a missing parent page. 5. On the **Dashboard**, select **Retry** next to Failed, or republish one page from its byline. --- ## If it does not work * Nobody is notified when a publish fails, so check the Failed and Invalid lists regularly. * A page just published may still show in the old list for a few minutes while Confluence search catches up. * Pages in the **Invalid** list have lost their source or target. Use **Retry** next to Invalid to republish them. --- ## Related ### [Nobody was told that a publish failed](https://help.gocapable.com/publishing/nobody-was-told-that-a-publish-failed.html) Why there is no alert. ### [Page statuses](https://help.gocapable.com/publishing/page-statuses.html) Failed, Invalid and the rest. ### [Page I just published is missing from the Published list, or the dashboard counts look wrong](https://help.gocapable.com/publishing/page-i-just-published-is-missing-from-the-published-list-or-the-dashboard-counts-look-wrong.html) Why lists lag. ### [See the publishing audit log](https://help.gocapable.com/publishing/see-the-publishing-audit-log.html) Logs of bulk runs. --- _Find it, fix it, retry it._
