# Choose where published Confluence pages land in the target space To choose where published Confluence pages land, open Publishing **Space settings** and go to the **Structure** tab. Pick a **Parent content** page or leave it at the space root, choose **Preserve hierarchy** or **Flatten to parent**, decide whether the space homepage is included, check the **Preview** and save. --- ## Before you start * You are a space administrator of the source space. * Publishing is enabled and a target space is chosen on the **Setup** tab. --- ## Steps 1. Open the space and select **Capable Publishing** in the sidebar (in the Suite, **Capable**, then **Publishing**). Under Manage, select **Space settings**. 2. Select the **Structure** tab. 3. Under **Parent content**, choose a page in the target space, or leave it empty to publish at the space root. 4. Under **Page structure**, choose **Preserve hierarchy** to mirror the source tree, or **Flatten to parent** to put every page directly under the parent. 5. Under **Space homepage**, choose whether the source homepage is published as a page. 6. Check the **Preview**, then select **Save**. If pages are already published, choose **Save and rebuild** to move them to the new place. --- ## What happens next New publishes follow the new layout straight away. With Preserve hierarchy, pages can be published in any order: a page whose parent is not published yet goes under its nearest published ancestor and moves under its parent once that is published. Pages someone moved by hand in the target space are never moved back. --- ## Related ### [Publishing settings](https://help.gocapable.com/publishing/publishing-settings.html) The Structure tab in detail. ### [Publishing folders](https://help.gocapable.com/publishing/publishing-folders.html) How folders are created and kept. ### [Pressed "Save without rebuild" and my published pages moved anyway](https://help.gocapable.com/publishing/pressed-save-without-rebuild-and-my-published-pages-moved-anyway.html) When a rebuild starts anyway. ### [Publish on approval](https://help.gocapable.com/publishing/publish-on-approval.html) How the tree is kept for approvals. --- _Put every page exactly where readers expect it._
