# PDF attached to the page is missing from the Attached File dropdown

**What you are seeing**

A PDF attached to the page is missing from the Attached File dropdown.

## Why it happens

The picker lists at most the first 250 attachments on the page and has no search, and it only shows files typed as PDF or generic binary or named .pdf.

## What to do

Remove old attachments, or use New File Upload to attach a fresh copy which is then selected automatically.

## A few things that catch people out

* The attachment picker lists at most the first 250 attachments and has no search or paging. It also includes files with a generic or missing type, so a non-PDF can be selected by mistake.
* With licensing enforced, a missing or expired licence replaces the macro with a banner. In the standalone PDF app that banner's Marketplace link is broken.
