# Thousands of draw.io macros failed on invalid diagram content

Thousands of draw.io macros failed with a message about invalid diagram content.

## Why it happens

A known, since-fixed bug: diagram files were read as text rather than as raw bytes, so drawings stored inside PNG previews could not be recovered. It accounted for roughly 95% of one production run's eighteen thousand failures.

## What to do

These pages were never damaged, the original macros were left exactly as they were. Simply re-run on a current build. If you are reading an old log, know that its failure count overstates reality.
