# Step 3: Selecting apps

This is the first step with numbers on it. Capable runs one search per app to count the pages carrying its macros, applies whatever filter you have typed, and sorts by size.

Apps with no matches are collapsed into a separate greyed list, so what remains at the top is the actual scale of your migration.

## What the counts mean

A count is pages, not macros: one page with forty draw.io diagrams counts once. It is also the count after your filter, so it is the true scope of the run you are about to start.

Every app row carries a support level and the number of pages it was found on, so the size of the job is visible before anything is ticked.

## What ticking an app does

* It brings that app's macros into the next step, and triggers a count for each of them.
* It selects nothing on its own. Nothing runs until you tick individual macros on step 4.
* Unticking an app clears any macros you had already chosen inside it.

**Missing an app?** There is a "Request it here" button on this step. We add migrators for real customer estates, and the request goes straight to the team.

## A few things that catch people out

* Which apps you see depends on which Capable app you opened the assistant from. The Migration section is hidden entirely in apps with nothing to migrate from.
* Standalone-to-Suite migrators only appear inside the Capable Suite, and Search migrators only inside Search or the Suite. There is no on-screen explanation for either.
* Every count at zero usually means the search filter was rejected, not that your site is clean.
