# Web extraction

Pulls a single value out of a JSON API and drops it into a sentence on the page, with text before and after it.

Several extractions can sit in one table, each cell holding a value fetched from a live source.

For the one live number a page needs, install counts, a repository's star count, today's temperature, an exchange rate, without embedding a whole dashboard. You give it a JSON endpoint and a JSONPath to the field you want, plus a prefix and suffix so the value reads as a sentence rather than a bare figure. The value is fetched through Capable's authenticated proxy when the page is viewed and cached for fifteen minutes, and numbers are formatted with thousands separators. A Presets menu fills in five worked examples so you can see the shape of a working configuration.

A JSON source, a path into it and the optional text either side are all the macro needs.
