# Formatting settings

Formatting has its own settings page with two tabs, plus a few switches that live at the product level rather than in this capability.

The two tabs are where nearly all the value is.

Macro presets are listed one macro at a time, and each saved preset can be edited, deleted or marked as the default.

| ---------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Brand guidelines | Your colour roles, plus default corners, shadow, spacing, alignment and borders |
| Macro presets    | House configurations per macro, up to ten each across twenty supported macros   |

## Switches that live elsewhere

| Hide Formatting site-wide         | Product global settings           | Removes the capability from the navigation and byline. Macros already on pages keep rendering |

| AI features                       | Product global settings, Features | Removes the AI dialogs from every macro at once                                               |
| Approved external domains         | Atlassian Admin Hub               | Lets macros fetch external images, feeds and embeds                                           |

⚠️

**Approved domains are configured in the Atlassian Admin Hub, not in the app.** That surprises people, because every other setting here is in Confluence.

## A few things worth knowing

* Hiding a capability is a visibility change. The macros stay in Confluence's own insert menu and existing ones keep rendering.
* Brand guidelines are per theme. Set both, or dark mode will look unconsidered.
* Settings changes take up to a minute to reach other people.
