# Add an animation to a Confluence page To add an animation to a Confluence page, insert the **Animation (Capable)** macro, choose one from the **Animation** list, such as Business Teamwork or Scheduling, and set its **Height**, **Align** and **Loop**. Turn on **Invert on dark mode** if its colours look wrong in dark mode. --- ## Before you start * You need permission to edit the page. * Capable Formatting, or the Capable suite, must be installed on your Confluence site. * The animations come from Capable's own library. You cannot upload your own file. --- ## Steps 1. Edit the page, type **/animation** and choose **Animation (Capable)**, or **Animation macro (Capable)** in the standalone app. 2. Choose one from the **Animation** list. 3. Set the **Height** and **Align** it left, centre or right. 4. Turn **Loop** on or off, and turn on **Invert on dark mode** if needed, then publish. --- ## A few things that catch people out * For a moving hero section with a headline and button, use [Animated banner](https://help.gocapable.com/macros/animated-banner.html) instead. * Keep to one animation per page; several at once compete for attention. --- ## Related ### [Animation](https://help.gocapable.com/macros/animation.html) Every Animation setting. ### [Animated banner](https://help.gocapable.com/macros/animated-banner.html) A moving hero banner. ### [Add a banner to a Confluence page](https://help.gocapable.com/macros/add-a-banner-to-a-confluence-page.html) Slides with images and buttons. ### [Designing eye-catching Confluence pages](https://help.gocapable.com/macros/designing-eye-catching-confluence-pages.html) More design guides. --- _A little movement, used sparingly._
