# Limits

Every limit here reports itself rather than failing silently. These are the numbers to plan around.

Titles are used verbatim as attachment filenames with no de-duplication or sanitisation, so two diagrams with the same title produce two identically named attachments on the issue.                            |
| Browse page size                             | 12 issues per page                     | Each JQL page requests 12 issues and the list reveals 12 rows at a time; Show more loads the next batch. (The shared hook's own default is 50; the Diagrams page overrides it to 12.).                                                                      |
| Concurrent diagram previews on the browse pa | 2 at a time, 100 ms apart              | Diagram content is downloaded one attachment at a time through a throttle, so thumbnails on a busy site fill in progressively rather than all at once.                                                                                                      |
| Render request size switch (GET vs POST)     | 4,300 encoded characters               | Diagram source shorter than 4,300 encoded characters is rendered via a GET URL; anything larger is POSTed as JSON. | Visio import formats                         | .vsdx and .vssx only                   | Legacy .vsd, .vdx, .vss and .vsx are rejected with an explicit message. Re-save them as .vsdx in Visio 2013 or later first.                                                                                                                                 |
| Download / export                            | Not available                          | There is no download or export button anywhere in the Jira UI, and Jira's own issue export and print do not render app panels. What does travel with the issue is the underlying attachment file, because diagrams are stored as ordinary Jira attachments. |

## A few things worth knowing

* A limit that is reached is reported in the interface, not in a log you have to find.
* Limits are per site or per tenant depending on the limit. The table says which.
* Edition can change some of these.
