# Add, Edit or Delete buttons are visible but clicking them does nothing

**What you are seeing**

Add, Edit or Delete buttons are visible but clicking them does nothing.

## Why it happens

The permission check treats anything other than an explicit permission denial. Including a network error. As "allowed", so the buttons can appear for users who cannot actually change attachments, and the action then fails quietly.

## What to do

Check that you have permission to create and delete attachments on that issue's project. If you do, reload the page. A transient network error during the check produces the same symptom.
