# Used on Pages A panel on each image's detail view listing the pages that reference it, driven by Capable's search index. Only Image reference macro usage is counted. --- ## Where you do it | **Task** | **Where** | | -------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------ | | Replace an image everywhere it is referenced | Images library → open the image → Upload new version | | See which pages use an image | Images library → open the image → 'Used on Pages' | | Delete an image | Image context menu → Delete, or drag it onto the trash drop target | --- ## Settings that affect this | **Setting** | **Where** | **What it does** | | -------------------------- | --------------------------- | ---------------- | | Global settings → Indexing | Capable settings → Indexing | \- | | Image detail panels | Open any library image | \- | --- ## Worth knowing * Deleting an image gives no warning that pages reference it. The 'Used on Pages' count is only shown on the image detail page, never in the delete path. * 'Used on Pages' only counts Image reference macros, and only after indexing. Native inserted copies and gallery macros are invisible to it. Indexing runs on page-change triggers filtered to licensed sites, so an unlicensed or evaluation site indexes nothing, and a pasted reference link that was never re-saved carries no stored image id to index. The list is also capped at 25 pages. --- ## Limits that apply here * 'Used on Pages' result cap --- ## Related [Edit an image before insertingAnother part of how this works.](https://help.gocapable.com/images/edit-an-image-before-inserting.html) [Insert position controlAnother part of how this works.](https://help.gocapable.com/images/insert-position-control.html) [How it worksThe rest.](https://help.gocapable.com/images/how-it-works.html) --- _How it actually behaves._
