# Add a free stock photo to Confluence To add a free stock photo to Confluence, open **Capable Images**, choose **Stock images**, search for what you need and drag a photo onto one of your library folders. Capable downloads it into the library with its caption and the photographer's credit, so you can place it on any page like your own images. --- ## Before you start * You need permission to upload to the library you drop the photo into. * Stock photos come from Unsplash. Search results are not part of your library until you import one. --- ## Steps 1. Open **Capable Images**. 2. In the sidebar, choose **Stock images**. 3. Type a search term and press Enter. 4. Drag the photo you want onto a folder, or onto **Space images** or **Global images**, in the sidebar. 5. Open the folder to find the imported photo, ready to insert. --- ## What happens next The photo becomes an ordinary library image. Its description holds the caption plus a credit line naming the photographer, which you should keep when you use it. You can now insert it as a reference or a plain image. 📝 You can also insert a stock photo straight onto a page from the insert dialog as a plain image, and edit it first. To reuse it as a reference, import it into the library as above. --- ## Related ### [Import an Unsplash stock photo](https://help.gocapable.com/images/import-an-unsplash-stock-photo.html) Importing stock photos in full. ### [Unsplash](https://help.gocapable.com/images/unsplash.html) How the Unsplash connection works. ### [Building a Confluence image library](https://help.gocapable.com/images/building-a-confluence-image-library.html) More guides for the image library. --- _The right photo, without leaving Confluence._
