# Pasted a link with a line range like #L10-L20 but the whole file is shown **What you are seeing** I pasted a link with a line range like #L10-L20 but the whole file is shown. --- ## Why it happens The line numbers are read out of the URL but there is nowhere to store them. The macro configuration has no line-range fields. So they are dropped. --- ## What to do Line-range display is not supported. Show the whole file, or split the source file if you only want part of it on the page. --- ## Settings involved | **Setting** | **Where** | **What it does** | | --------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | | Hide GitHub across the whole site | App property \`capable-global-hidden-capabilities\`, object name \`hiddenCapabilities\`, value | Hides the capability tenant-wide. IMPORTANT: this gates the BYLINE ONLY. The macro module has no display conditions, so hiding the capability does not stop existing GitHub macros from rendering on pages. | --- ## Related [Pasted a GitHub URL and it did not turn into a macroOnly github.com /blob/ links and raw.githubusercontent.com links auto-convert, and only up](https://help.gocapable.com/git/pasted-a-github-url-and-it-did-not-turn-into-a-macro.html) [Pasted a link like github.com/owner/repo/blob/refs/heads/main/file.md and the macro is brokenThe parser used by auto-convert takes the third path segment as the branch without checkin](https://help.gocapable.com/git/pasted-a-link-like-github-com-owner-repo-blob-refs-heads-main-file-md-and-the-macro-is-broken.html) [Everything elseThe rest of this family.](https://help.gocapable.com/git/everything-else.html) --- _Found it?
