# Multi page diagrams

A draw.io diagram can contain several pages, which is the right way to hold a set of related views: an overview and its detail, or one page per environment.

On the Confluence page, readers can switch between pages when the macro is in Classic display mode.

## How it works

| **Action**         | **How**                                                       |
| ------------------ | ------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Add a page         | The plus button on the page tabs at the bottom of the editor. |
| Rename             | Double-click a page tab.                                      |
| Reorder            | Drag the tabs.                                                |
| Reader switching   | Available in Classic display mode on the page.                |
| Link between pages | Right-click a shape, Edit Link, and pick a page in this file. |

## A few things that catch people out

* Readers only get page switching in Classic display mode. In other modes they see the first page.
* Every page is in one file, so they version together. That is usually what you want.
* Do not use pages as a filing system. Three or four is sensible; twenty is a folder.
