# Migrate from Just Add+ diagrams to Capable Diagrams in Confluence To migrate Just Add+ diagrams, a Confluence administrator opens the **Migration** tab in Capable, selects **Just Add+ for Confluence (Modus Create)** and its **Diagram** macro, runs **Perform verification**, then **Start migration**. Source pasted into the macro becomes a Capable diagram; source loaded from a URL or attachment becomes a Capable diagram from URL or attachment. --- ## Before you start | **You need** | **Why** | | ------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------ | | Confluence administrator rights | Only administrators can open the **Migration** tab. | | A pilot space | A small first run shows you the real failure rate in minutes. | | The browser tab left open | The migration runs in your browser and stops if you close the tab. | --- ## Steps 1. In Confluence administration, open the app's settings page (**Capable**, or **Capable Diagrams** for the standalone app) and select the **Migration** tab. 2. Read **Introduction** and tick the confirmations, then go to **Options**. Leave **Skip errors** on. 3. In **Select apps**, choose **Just Add+ for Confluence (Modus Create)**. 4. In **Select macros**, choose **Diagram**, and narrow the pages to your pilot space. 5. On **Run**, select **Perform verification**. It reads the pages and writes nothing. Read the results. 6. Select **Start migration**. When it finishes, select **Download log** and keep the file. --- ## What converts | **Macro** | **Becomes** | **Worth knowing** | | --------------------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | Diagram, with source in the macro | A Capable diagram | PlantUML, C4 with PlantUML, BlockDiag, Bytefield, GraphViz, Mermaid, Symbolator, Vega, Vega-Lite, ditaa, ERD, Nomnoml, Pikchr, Structurizr, Svgbob, UMLet and WaveDrom source, with the diagram title. | | Diagram, with source from a URL or attachment | **Diagram from URL/attachment (Capable)** | The same languages. The macro keeps loading from the same URL or page attachment. | * Missing PlantUML and BlockDiag wrappers are added so the diagram renders in Capable. * This page covers the Diagram macro. Just Add+ Markdown and LaTeX macros have their own migrators in Capable for Confluence. * The Just Add+ migration is not offered in the Zero Egress edition of Capable Diagrams. --- ## What happens next * Each page the run changes gets a new version labelled "Migrated by Capable", so any page can be put back from its history. * Re-running is safe. Run again for more spaces, or for pages that failed once you have fixed the cause. * To undo a whole run, open **Repair** on the **Migration** tab and use **Roll back pages** with the log you downloaded. See [Roll back a Confluence macro migration](https://innovator.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/MB/pages/1542849182). --- ## If it does not work * No **Migration** tab: you are not a Confluence administrator, or you are in the wrong app. See [I cannot find the Migration tab](https://innovator.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/MB/pages/1409155622). * Pages you cannot edit are skipped and reported as permission failures. **Use Admin Key (experimental)** under **Advanced options** lets an administrator migrate them. --- ## Related ### [Just Add+ for Confluence (Diagrams)](https://staging.dev.capable-sites.com/wiki/pages/1409188296) Full migration notes for the Diagram macro. ### [Test a Confluence migration with a dry run](https://staging.dev.capable-sites.com/wiki/pages/1542750771) Verify before you write anything. ### [Roll back a Confluence macro migration](https://staging.dev.capable-sites.com/wiki/pages/1542849182) Undo a run from its log. ### [Insert a PlantUML diagram in Confluence](https://help.gocapable.com/diagrams/insert-a-plantuml-diagram-in-confluence.html) Working with PlantUML afterwards. ### [Run a migration](https://help.gocapable.com/diagrams/run-a-migration.html) Every wizard step and option. --- _Seventeen languages in, Capable diagrams out._
