# Import diagrams from a page Rather than redrawing something a colleague already made, bring it in. The scan finds diagrams across the pages you can see. --- ## How to From the insert dialog, choose to import from a page. Point at the page, review what was found, and pick the diagrams you want. ## What the scan finds * Capable diagrams on the page. * Diagrams from other vendors' macros, where the format is understood. * Attached diagram files such as .drawio and .vsdx. 📝 **Importing copies.** The imported diagram becomes independent, so editing it does not change the original. If you want one shared source, see [Reuse one diagram on many pages](https://help.gocapable.com/diagrams/find-and-reuse.html). --- ## A few things that catch people out * You only see diagrams on pages you have permission to read. * A copy does not track the original. If the source changes, your copy will not. * Scanning a very large page tree takes time; narrow it to the page you mean. --- ## Related [Find and reuseReusing rather than copying.](https://help.gocapable.com/diagrams/find-and-reuse.html) [Migrate to Capable DiagramsBulk conversion from another app.](https://help.gocapable.com/diagrams/migrate-to-capable-diagrams.html) [Insert a diagramStarting fresh instead.](https://help.gocapable.com/diagrams/create-and-insert.html) --- _Somebody has probably drawn it already._
