# Hosting and data residency

Two separate things matter here. Your diagram data lives in your Confluence site, which means Atlassian's hosting and Atlassian's data residency choices apply to it.

The rendering service is ours, and it is where a text diagram's source goes to be drawn. If residency for that matters to you, self-host the renderer and the question stops applying.

| Current hosting details     | Published on our trust and security pages, which are kept current.        |

## A few things that catch people out

* The residency question is really two questions. Storage is Atlassian's; rendering is ours or yours.
* Self-hosting the renderer answers the residency question completely for diagram content.
* For current specifics, use our published trust pages rather than a wiki page that may age.
