# Charts and data visualization

A chart pasted in as a screenshot cannot be checked, corrected or updated. A chart rendered from a text spec can be all three, and the data sits right there in the source.

These are for documents, not dashboards. When the data lives somewhere else and changes constantly, link to the dashboard instead.
