# Turn off Capable email notifications To stop Capable emails for yourself, open your Capable settings and turn off the **Email** switch in the **Notifications** section. It only affects you, and Slack and Microsoft Teams messages carry on. To stop approval emails for everyone, a site administrator turns off **Email notifications** on the **Notifications** tab in Global settings. --- ## Before you start | **You want to** | **Who can do it** | | ------------------------------ | ------------------------------- | | Stop your own emails | Anyone, for themselves | | Stop emails for the whole site | A Confluence site administrator | --- ## Steps ### For yourself 1. Open any Capable page and select the settings gear to open **User settings**. 2. In the **Notifications** section, turn off **Email**. You can do the same from **Notifications** under Manage in the Approval sidebar, by turning off **Send me email notifications**. ### For everyone 1. Open **Global settings** for Capable, or select **Manage notifications** in your Capable settings. 2. Select the **Notifications** tab. 3. On the **Email** card, turn off **Email notifications**. --- ## If it does not work * Your switch is greyed out: an administrator has already turned email off for the site. * Still getting emails from Capable: check whether you also use a standalone Capable Approval app. Each app has its own switch. * Still getting messages in Slack or Teams: those have their own switches next to **Email**. --- ## Related ### [Email notifications](https://help.gocapable.com/capable/email-notifications.html) What the email switch covers. ### [User preferences](https://help.gocapable.com/capable/user-preferences.html) Your other personal settings. ### [Notifications](https://help.gocapable.com/capable/notifications.html) Every channel and who controls it. --- _Your inbox, your switch._
