# Set up Capable for Confluence after installing After installing Capable for Confluence, a site administrator opens **Global settings** and works left to right: hide the capabilities you do not use on the **Capabilities** tab, check the switches on the **Features** tab, and connect email, Slack or Microsoft Teams on the **Notifications** tab. Everything saves as you go, and nothing is required before people start. --- ## Before you start | **You need** | **Why** | | -------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------- | | A Confluence site administrator | Global settings is for site administrators only. | | Capable for Confluence installed | Macros and the Capable byline appear as soon as the install finishes. | | A few minutes | There is no Save button. Each change applies on its own. | --- ## Steps 1. Open **Global settings** for Capable in Confluence administration. You can also select **Open Global Settings** in the **General** section of your Capable settings. 2. On the **Capabilities** tab, switch any capability your site will not use to Hidden. The navigation, the byline and the command palette get shorter for everyone. 3. On the **Features** tab, check the site-wide switches, such as **AI integrations**, **Approval status banner** and **Calendar subscriptions**. 4. On the **Notifications** tab, leave **Email notifications** on or off, and connect Slack or Microsoft Teams if your teams use them. 5. If your content loads images, fonts or data from a server of your own, add that domain on the **Egress** tab. 6. Leave the **Indexing** tab to fill up. Search filters and bylines that show when relevant depend on it. --- ## What happens next Install also creates a Confluence space called Capable Asset Store, which holds shared templates, images and libraries. Do not delete it. Indexing runs in the background once an hour, so a large site can take hours or days before every page is covered. 📝 Space administrators can also hide a capability in their own space. See [Hide a Capable capability in one Confluence space](https://help.gocapable.com/capable/hide-a-capable-capability-in-one-confluence-space.html). --- ## If it does not work * A panel saying **License Not Found** straight after installing usually clears within a few minutes. See [Fix License Not Found or License expired in Capable for Confluence](https://help.gocapable.com/capable/fix-license-not-found-or-license-expired-in-capable-for-confluence.html). * Sites, Quality or Forms stay missing after you make them Visible: they also depend on your edition. See [Editions](https://help.gocapable.com/capable/editions.html). * A change has not reached other people yet: allow about a minute, or up to five in a tab that was already open. --- ## Related ### [Installing the suite](https://help.gocapable.com/capable/installing-the-suite.html) What install does behind the scenes. ### [Site settings](https://help.gocapable.com/capable/site-settings.html) Every Global settings tab. ### [Hide a Capable feature from users](https://help.gocapable.com/capable/hide-a-capable-feature-from-users.html) Hide capabilities for everyone. ### [Set up notifications for Capable in Confluence](https://help.gocapable.com/capable/set-up-notifications-for-capable-in-confluence.html) Email, Slack and Microsoft Teams. ### [Installing and licensing Capable for Confluence](https://help.gocapable.com/capable/installing-and-licensing-capable-for-confluence.html) All install and licence guides. --- _Ten minutes now saves a tidy-up later._
