# Search for templates from the Confluence byline To find a template from any Confluence page, open the Capable byline by pressing comma or clicking **Capable** next to the author, and start typing. Matching diagram and Markdown templates appear under **Templates**, and diagram languages under **Diagram libraries**. Pick one and the editor opens with it filled in, ready to insert. --- ## Before you start * Anyone who can edit the page can do this. * Diagrams or Markdown must be visible on your site. A capability an administrator has hidden is left out of the search. * The standalone Diagrams and Markdown apps search templates from their own byline entry in the same way. --- ## Steps 1. Open the page and press the comma key, or click **Capable** in the page byline. 2. Type a word from the template's title or description, for example `sequence` or `meeting notes`. 3. Wait a moment for the **Templates** and **Diagram libraries** sections to appear below the capabilities. 4. Select the template or library you want. 5. Adjust it in the editor, then insert it into the page. --- ## If it does not work * No Templates section: nothing matched. Each word you type must appear in the title or description, so try fewer words. * A diagram library is missing: an administrator has turned it off in the Diagrams settings. * Your own template is missing: it is searched in this page's space and the global library only. Templates in other spaces do not appear. --- ## Related ### [The Capable byline](https://help.gocapable.com/capable/the-capable-byline.html) Everything the byline does. ### [Open the Capable command palette in Confluence](https://help.gocapable.com/capable/open-the-capable-command-palette-in-confluence.html) The same search, with Command K. ### [Diagrams](https://help.gocapable.com/capable/diagrams.html) The capability behind diagram templates. ### [Markdown](https://help.gocapable.com/capable/markdown.html) The capability behind Markdown templates. --- _Press comma, type, insert._
