# How to number headings

Numbering your headings is easy with Capable:

1. Click on the Capable item at the top of your Confluence page
2. Click on ‘Number headings’
3. Choose the format you’d like from the presets, or make your own
4. Choose whether you’d like to automatically update headings on changes
5. Click ‘Save’
