# Email notifications

Each person can turn their own Capable emails off. There is no per-space and no per-type option: it is all of them or none.

The scope of that switch is the part worth reading.

## Turning them off

## What the switch covers

* All Capable email for you, across every capability. In practice that means Approval.
* It does not affect Slack direct messages at all.
* It is scoped to one app installation.

## Turning email off for everyone

A Confluence administrator can [turn email notifications off](https://help.gocapable.com/capable/site-settings.html) site-wide from the Features tab in global settings.

## A few things worth knowing

* Email is sent from a Capable address with Reply-To set to the requester, so replies reach a person rather than a void.
* Turning email off does not stop you being added as an approver. It stops you hearing about it by email.
