# Change a capability's global settings without leaving Capable

To change a capability's site-wide settings without going to Confluence administration, open the capability in Capable and select **Global settings** at the end of the **Manage** group in its sidebar. It is there in Approval, Calendar, Diagrams and Macros, for Confluence site administrators only, and shows the same settings as the capability's tab in Global settings.

## Before you start

* You need to be a Confluence site administrator. The entry appears once Capable has confirmed that.
* Publishing has no entry: its only site-wide settings stay in Confluence administration.

## Steps

1. Open the capability in Capable, for example Diagrams.
2. In the sidebar, find the **Manage** group.
3. Select **Global settings**.
4. Change the setting you need. Switches save as soon as you change them.

## What happens next

The change is the same setting as on the admin page, so the two always agree. Other people see it within about a minute. Features switches that belong to the capability appear here too, such as **Calendar subscriptions** in Calendar, **Diagram presence** in Diagrams and **Approval status banner** in Approval. A switch that covers every capability, such as **AI integrations**, says so.
