# Who can create and edit events

Permission comes from Confluence content permissions on the calendar itself. The server re-checks the viewer's read/update/delete rights on the calendar record on every request, and the app disables creation and raises a message when the check fails. Built-in calendars are read-only by construction.

Hovering an empty day offers a plus sign to start an event, and it is offered only while the permission check on the calendar passes.

Once the click lands, the dialog asks for a name, a priority, dates, a colour and anyone who should attend.
