# Set a Base Timezone on a calendar and nothing changed **What you are seeing** I set a Base Timezone on a calendar and nothing changed. --- ## Why it happens Either it only affects the event editor , or the stored zone is not a recognised one, in which case it silently falls back to the viewer's zone with only a browser console warning. --- ## What to do Re-pick the zone from the searchable list rather than typing it, and remember the grid never uses it. --- ## Settings involved | **Setting** | **Where** | **What it does** | | ------------------------------ | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | | Calendar subscriptions | Confluence settings → Capable (Capable Calendar in the standalone app) → Features | "Let users subscribe to Capable calendars from Google, Apple, or Outlook via a personal iCal feed.
