# Importing an .ics file

An existing calendar file can be imported one-way into a saved calendar from the calendar catalogue. Events carrying a Confluence Jira-integration marker are skipped, events with no start date are skipped, titles shorter than 4 characters are skipped, and recurring events import as their first occurrence only.

The drop zone takes one .ics file and states up front that recurring events arrive as single occurrences and Jira integration events are skipped.

Import from iCal is the first entry under Actions in the same overflow menu that carries the export options.
