# Add a calendar to a Confluence page To add a calendar to a Confluence page, type **/calendar** in the editor and choose **Calendar (Capable)**. Leave **Source** unset to show the dates already on the page, or pick a saved calendar to show its events. Choose the **View** it opens in, such as Month or Agenda, then publish the page. --- ## Before you start * You need permission to edit the page. * In the standalone app the macro is called **Calendar macro (Capable)**. * To show a shared calendar, it must already exist, or you can create it from the **Source** picker. --- ## Steps 1. Open the page in the editor, type **/calendar** and choose **Calendar (Capable)**. 2. On the **Content** tab, set **Source**: leave it unset for this page's dates, pick a space or global calendar, or choose **Create new calendar**. 3. If you picked a saved calendar, turn on **Event editing** to let readers add and edit events from the page. 4. Choose a **View** (Day, Week, Month, Year or Agenda) and where it should **Start on**. 5. Optionally frame it on the **Style** tab with a border, shadow or highlight colour. 6. Close the panel and publish the page. --- ## What happens next The calendar shows on the page in the view you chose. Readers cannot switch views inside the macro; they press **Maximize** for a full calendar with a view switcher. On a busy day the extras collapse into a **+N more** link, whose popover now opens above the calendar and closes itself when you click an event. --- ## Related ### [Calendar](https://help.gocapable.com/calendar/calendar.html) Every Calendar macro setting. ### [Calendar views](https://help.gocapable.com/calendar/calendar-views.html) Day, Week, Month, Year and Agenda. ### [Adding calendars to Confluence pages](https://help.gocapable.com/calendar/adding-calendars-to-confluence-pages.html) More guides for calendars on pages. --- _The dates were already there.
