# Attio for Jira FAQ Quick answers about connecting, matching, privacy and the customer portal. Each one links to the page with the detail. --- ### Does Attio for Jira only work on Jira Service Management projects? No. The customer card works on service management, software and business projects. On a software or business project, match on a Jira field that names the customer. Only the customer portal panel is specific to service management. See [Link Jira issues to Attio records with a Jira field](https://help.gocapable.com/attio-for-jira/link-jira-issues-to-attio-records-with-a-jira-field.html). ### Does the app write anything to Attio? No. It only reads, with a read-only API key, and nothing is copied into Jira either. Values are fetched when somebody opens an issue. ### Why is there no Attio sign-in? Each Jira project connects with one Attio workspace API key, pasted by a project administrator. There is no username, password or Attio app to install. See [Create an Attio API key](https://help.gocapable.com/attio-for-jira/create-an-attio-api-key.html). ### Can two Jira projects use different Attio workspaces? Yes. Every project has its own key and settings. A Jira site administrator gets a read-only list of which projects are connected to which workspace, under **Attio for Jira** in Jira administration. ### Can customers on the portal see the agent card? No. The agent card is for licensed users only. Customers see a separate **More details** panel, and only if an administrator publishes fields to it. See [Show customers their Attio details on the Jira Service Management portal](https://help.gocapable.com/attio-for-jira/show-customers-their-attio-details-on-the-jira-service-management-portal.html). ### Why does a reporter on Gmail never match a company? Free-mail domains say nothing about the company, so around 165 of them are never looked up. Add a domain under **Domains to match anyway** if a customer genuinely uses one. See [Why a reporter on Gmail never matches a company](https://help.gocapable.com/attio-for-jira/why-a-reporter-on-gmail-never-matches-a-company.html). ### What happens when more than one record matches? The card lists the candidates side by side so the reader can pick the right one. When matching by domain, more than three matches are refused, because the card cannot say which is the customer. ### How up to date is the card? Values are remembered for up to fifteen minutes. Your own settings changes show straight away, because saving clears what the project remembered. See [How fresh the Attio card is](https://help.gocapable.com/attio-for-jira/how-fresh-the-attio-card-is.html). ### Why does the card not appear for one of my colleagues? They are probably outside the audience set on **Permissions**, often because of a group restriction. The card gives no message to people who cannot see it. See [Choose who sees Attio data in Jira](https://help.gocapable.com/attio-for-jira/choose-who-sees-attio-data-in-jira.html). ### Does matching on a Jira field need access to email addresses? No. Field matching reads the value from the issue, so it works without a reporter and without Jira's permission to read email addresses. ### Does disconnecting delete anything in Attio? No. **Reset to defaults** only removes what the app stored in Jira. Revoke the key in Attio separately. See [Disconnect a Jira project from Attio](https://help.gocapable.com/attio-for-jira/disconnect-a-jira-project-from-attio.html). ### Who can set up Attio for Jira? Project administrators, from **Project settings**, **Apps**, **Attio**. A site administrator may also need to approve the app's permissions in Admin Hub. --- ## Related ### [Connecting Attio to Jira](https://help.gocapable.com/attio-for-jira/connecting-attio-to-jira.html) Keys and matching. ### [Attio data on Jira issues and the customer portal](https://help.gocapable.com/attio-for-jira/attio-data-on-jira-issues-and-the-customer-portal.html) Placements, audience and the portal. ### [Limits of Attio for Jira](https://help.gocapable.com/attio-for-jira/limits-of-attio-for-jira.html) The deliberate limits. --- _Short answers first, detail one click away._
