# Plans and pricing

Capable Approval is licensed through the Atlassian Marketplace and billed with your Atlassian invoice. Pricing follows your Confluence user tier, so there is nothing separate to manage, no seats to allocate and no per-approval charge to keep an eye on.

## Trials

Installing starts a free trial automatically. Everything is available during it, including eSignatures and automation, so you are evaluating the real thing rather than a cut-down version of it.

## How users are counted

Licensing follows your Confluence user tier, the same as every Marketplace app. You are not billed per approval, per team or per approver.

## Questions we get asked

| Do reviewers need a licence?                     | They need a Confluence licence, exactly as they do to read the page in the first place.                                                                                  |
| What happens if the licence lapses?              | Approvals stop working, but your records stay on your pages and come back when it is renewed.                                                                            |
| Can we move from standalone to the suite later?  | Yes, and your existing approvals carry over. Talk to us before you do it.                                                                                                |

## A few things that catch people out

* Approval columns in search need the Search capability, which the standalone app does not include.
* Do not run the standalone app and the suite side by side.
* A lapsed licence hides approvals, it does not delete them. See [Install Capable Approval](https://help.gocapable.com/approval/install-capable-approval.html).
